Evans Cycles is one of Britain's leading cycling stores, with shops all over the country as well as a huge presence in the world of online retail. It initially started out as one small shop in central London that stocked bicycles and toys and was opened in 1921 by Frederick W. Evans, an avid cyclist who was an innovator as well as an entrepreneurial business man.
Evans invented a piece of unique cycling equipment that won him many awards and made him a big name on the cycling scene in London and across the world. Evans died in a road accident in 1944, though his manager continued to run the Evans store in south east London until the 1950s when the company was bought by business men who eventually transformed the business into the giant it is today, with a huge, well established online store, over 40 retail stores in towns and cities across the UK and over 1,000 employees making up the Evans Cycles online and offline team.
The store stocks a vast range of high end bicycles, including mountain bikes, road bikes, hybrid bikes and touring bikes, along with BMX and kids' bikes. It stocks some of the biggest and best brand names in the cycling world, including Specialized, Cannonale, Scott, Pinnacle and Genesis, with deals and offers available constantly. As well as stocking a huge number of bikes, Evans Cycles also have everything a cyclist could possibly need, with a massive clothing department containing base layers, jackets, cycling jerseys, socks, shorts and tights along with special cycling shoes, with specific clothing items available for men, women and children.
The accessories section of the site has all the latest lights, technology, media and luggage, with baskets, stabilisers, bells and panniers to accessories any bike, cycle computers and GPS systems from leading companies like Garmin, and front and back lights to improve road visibility and enable night riding. They also stock a whole host of components and spare parts, such as chains, bike forks, pedals and seats as well as helmets, tools and cycling nutrition such as energy bars and drinks to enhance performance on challenging rides and in sportives.
Price match terms and conditions
Evans Cycles have a fantastic price match guarantee. If you find a cheaper price elsewhere, they will match it. This even includes discounts after using voucher codes. For example, you might find a certain bike on a competitor's website 10% cheaper because you have used a voucher code, however if you inform Evans Cycles, they'll match that 10% even though they aren't running the same promotion.
If you've already purchased the item from Evans but find that a competitor was selling it cheaper, you can have the difference refunded directly into your account. You must do this within 7 days of receipt of your goods. Evans Cycles have a specific list of retailers that they can price match against. To see them all, click here.
