LEGOLAND Windsor is a child cantered theme park that opened in 1996. It is based on the popular Danish toy Lego and was the second LEGOLAND theme park in the world. The park was bought by Merlin entertainment in 2005 but the Lego Group still own a 30% stake.

Map of LEGOLAND Windsor

In 2012 it was the 2nd most visited park in England after Alton Towers and the 10th most visited in Europe. All the rides are based around Lego, visitors can also find building workshops and an impressive miniature city made up of famous landmarks, and all made out of these versatile little bricks of course. Most of these attractions are aimed at children between the ages of 3 to 12.

The park is split into 11 areas each with a different focus and its own rides attractions and shops. Some of these areas are:

Miniland

This is the miniature city, models are made up of over 40 million bricks and they are all proportioned to a 1:20 scale. You will find many popular London sights including Big Ben, The Changing of the Guards and even people waiting for the tube. Sights from all around Europe have also been depicted. Such as a small Welsh village, scenes from Amsterdam, Italy and if you search really closely you may even be able to find the illusive Top Gear Stig.

Duplo Valley

This area is aimed at younger children and features the water park attraction Splash Valley. The gentle boat ride Fairy Tale Brook as well as puppet shows to entertain for hours.

Kingdom of the Pharaohs

Laced with an Egyptian feel this areas includes many rides. The carousel can be found alongside exciting laser pointer games.

This is just a teste of what you have in store, there is much more to do and see. Most recently the park became a resort when the hotel opened in 2012. This Hotel has 150 rooms, they are also themed. You can spend the night in a pirate’s cave of perhaps a knight’s kingdom if you prefer. There is even a dragon guarded entrance for extra security.

Take a look on the website and start to plan your visit. Children will be begging you to stay a little longer as they become entranced by this magical land. Make them fall in love with one of your best loved childhood toys. Don’t forget to check the deals on our page before you book. We update the deals each day so you always get the most for your money.
