LEGOLAND Windsor is a child cantered theme park that opened in 1996. It is based on the popular Danish toy Lego and was the second LEGOLAND theme park in the world. The park was bought by Merlin entertainment in 2005 but the Lego Group still own a 30% stake.
In 2012 it was the 2nd most visited park in England after Alton Towers and the 10th most visited in Europe. All the rides are based around Lego, visitors can also find building workshops and an impressive miniature city made up of famous landmarks, and all made out of these versatile little bricks of course. Most of these attractions are aimed at children between the ages of 3 to 12.

This is the miniature city, models are made up of over 40 million bricks and they are all proportioned to a 1:20 scale. You will find many popular London sights including Big Ben, The Changing of the Guards and even people waiting for the tube. Sights from all around Europe have also been depicted. Such as a small Welsh village, scenes from Amsterdam, Italy and if you search really closely you may even be able to find the illusive Top Gear Stig.
This area is aimed at younger children and features the water park attraction Splash Valley. The gentle boat ride Fairy Tale Brook as well as puppet shows to entertain for hours.
Kingdom of the Pharaohs
Laced with an Egyptian feel this areas includes many rides. The carousel can be found alongside exciting laser pointer games.
This is just a teste of what you have in store, there is much more to do and see. Most recently the park became a resort when the hotel opened in 2012. This Hotel has 150 rooms, they are also themed. You can spend the night in a pirate’s cave of perhaps a knight’s kingdom if you prefer. There is even a dragon guarded entrance for extra security.
