Morrisons is one of the nation’s favourite supermarkets, its number four in the chain of large superstores in the UK. It sells everything from fresh groceries, all the food and drink you could think of, lifestyle products, a mother kids and baby section and plenty of recipes for inspiration.
Their main focus is to deliver the best customer service and have the very best fresh produce. They do this by using their own manufacturing facilities so that they can oversee the whole process and ensure that it’s 100% quality.
However, when it first began and was founded in 1899 by William Morrison it started out as an egg and butter stall in Bradford, England. With such high demand the stall was getting, he decided to go into retail and develop it into a supermarket business. In 1961 he turned a cinema into the very first one and opened it. He then planned to expand further.
There’s now over 500 stores across the United Kingdom, with twelve million customers who go through Morrisons doors every week, and 125,000 employees. There’s also small convenient stores and petrol stations too. This are designed so that their customers don’t have to worry about travelling to their biggest and nearest store just to pick up some milk.
In 2004, Morrisons took over all of the Safeway shops. This was the biggest transformation in retail and the company saw a significant increase in revenue, customers and positivity.
They are now an award-winning company, and in 2006 they were awarded ‘Seafood Retailer of the Year’ for the highest quality of food. In addition to ‘Fresh Flower Supermarket of the year’ and ‘Store Manager’ of the year.

Latest Morrison’s News
Morrison’s have decided to launch their own loyalty card after them being the only supermarket to not have one. This card aims to help overcome the competition and bring in new customers. It’s called Match and More and will award customers with points. The points will be the equivalent of the price of items in its rival supermarkets.
This is a fantastic way for gaining rewards and being able to spend them in store for the peak seasons such as Christmas. In addition, this gives something back to their shoppers and gives them a 100% price match guarantee.
