SKINS Sportswear

SKINS was brought to life in 1996 after an Aussie skier wanted to increase his stamina so that he could ski, party and repeat. Using his knowledge that better blood circulation would allow more oxygen to muscles, making them work hard and decrease their recovery time he wanted to create sportswear that would allow this. After consulting with experts including those brain-bots at NASA he created SKINS; performance wear that works to improve stamina, power, speed and recovery.

Mens Compression Sportswear

Skins menswearSKINS know what it means to be an athlete whether that be professional or amateur so they also know that you need to be wearing the right gear to make the most of your given sport. Their men’s compression sportswear collection is impressive to say the least with a good range of sizes, colours and products. Skins have got what you’re looking for. You’ll also find a wide selection of men’s shorts, tights, tops and bodysuits as well as accessories like sock and bags. You’re in good hands with Skins, through extensive research their clothing is specifically created around what compression levels each muscle group needs to maintain optimum oxygen levels during all aspects of exercise.

The Science

Science behind compression clothingNow for what sets SKINS and their compression sportswear apart from the rest of the competition…The science. Research is always ongoing at Skins and the majority has been published on their website so that you can read up on their results and be sure you’re making the right decision when it comes to your purchase.

SKINS are all about the athletes both professional and amateur and they want to see you beat your personal bests, win matches and dream big when it comes to your fitness which is why they strive to improve the way in which you do this.

Their ranges including Essentials, TRI400, A400.DNAmic and RY400 collections are the only sportswear that take into account the fact that if you increase compression levels you can increase oxygen delivery to the muscles you are currently working. SKINS have named this dynamic gradient compression and it is present in all of their designs.

Working with an Australian industrial and scientific organisation SKINS were able to accurately measure the muscle compression when they are in motion and see how the muscles changed shape when they had the optimum level of oxygen pumping through them. Since all other compression tests had been conducted on subjects who were standing still these measurements were a real game changer.

SKINS are now aware of the amount compression levels are required from their clothing for each muscle group whilst the wearer is still, being active and during recovery and they have transferred this knowledge to their exercise clothing.
